I loved that the residents have choices of not only activities, but where to dine. There are accommodations if I or other family members wanted to eat with my husband in the library room. Residents may also eat in the day room or in their own room as well. The facility also has a small pet visitation policy. My husband was always kept neat and clean, as they shower the residents several times a week. I found the facility to be neat, clean, and for the most part odor free.

After a woman suffering from dementia was admitted to Fulton Commons in 2018, her son observed the facility was insufficiently staffed, often with just one or two staff members on hand to supervise 30 residents at a time. In 2019, the resident’s son found his mother with a large bruise on her forehead that none of the staff could explain. In January 2020, he arrived for another visit and found his mother in the lunchroom, out of her wheelchair, and crawling around on the filthy floor while staff looked on and did not intervene. On another occasion, he witnessed his mother tied to her wheelchair with what appeared to be a piece of clothing. This is Attorney General James’ second legal proceeding against Fulton Commons.
The charges filed in that proceeding are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. There’s a lot I can say about this rehabilitation center that its supposed to be to the help elderly. I’m here to tell everyone that this place is very bad for your family. My mother in law was sent to this rehab to help her get better but that didn’t not end that way. She was only there for four months before she died there..

The facility was giving her laxatives and Metamucil to prevent constipation, however when she would call for help to use the bathroom there would be NO nurse to be found. They would keep telling her to use the red button to indicate for help, but being 98 with dementia there was no way she would be able to remember this. This would lead her to go in her pants and the staff would just let her helplessly sit there in her own feces sometimes for HOURS!!!! This place should be shut down - please prevent at all costs. My husband was there during Thanksgiving and every one of them was happy to be working and made it a special day for all the residents. The Holiday Tree Lighting was also a very happy event, with many staff returning with their children. The social worker was a great advocate for us and gave us the correct information and an array of services for when my husband was discharged. In 3 years that my husband has been ill and in and out of hospitals, this was the first time I encountered a knowledgeable social worker that knew what she was doing. She arranged my husband's trip home, as well as home health care, all of which went seamlessly.
